What this is
24 templates covering the documents a workplace investigation actually produces — the plan, the allegation matrix, the interview records, the credibility analysis, the report and the letters that close it out. Each one has a section-by-section guide, a free Word download with no email required, and, where the document is difficult to write, a complete filled-in example.
The examples are the part that took the longest and the part most likely to be useful. Reading a finished credibility assessment teaches more than any amount of guidance about what a credibility assessment should contain — which is why one of the worked examples deliberately ends unresolved, because that is a real outcome and templates that only demonstrate clean resolutions teach the wrong lesson.
How these are written
- Structure follows the practice described by professional investigator bodies and the expectations regulators set for an adequate investigation.
- Where a page states a standard or a requirement, it links to the primary source rather than asking you to take our word for it.
- Worked examples use fictional scenarios. No real matter, organization or person is described anywhere on this site.
- The Word download is generated from the same definition that renders the page, so the template you download cannot drift from the guide you just read.
Relationship to Professional Drafter
This library is published by the team building Professional Drafter, a drafting tool for professional reports. We say so plainly because a resource that hides its commercial interest is worth less than one that declares it.
Templates here can be opened directly in the product, but everything on this site is free and downloadable without an account.
What this library is not

- It is not jurisdiction-specific. Investigation requirements differ across countries, states and sectors, and a template cannot resolve that for you.
- It is not a substitute for training. These documents assume an investigator who understands what they are doing; a template does not make an untrained investigator competent.
